Lifespan Programs The Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner provides holistic care for pediatric patients with acute, complex, critical, and chronic illness across a variety of care settings (including, but not limited to hospitals, intensive care units, subspecialty clinics, emergency departments, and the patient’s home).The nurse practitioner major offers a choice of five individual concentrations. Available concentrations include: a) adult gerontology with an acute care focus (AGACNP), b) family with primary care focus (FNP), and c) pediatrics with an acute care focus (PNP-AC) d) pediatrics with a primary care focus (PNP-PC), and e) psychiatric mental health. Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Post- Graduate Certificate. Adult and Higher Education MEd, Adult Education Emphasis. Admissions. Our Post-Graduate Certificate program is available to registered nurses who: Possess a master's degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing school, or. Possess a master's degree in another discipline acceptable to the specialty faculty. Board certified nurse practitioners actively practicing outside of their area of certification. We offer four specialty areas in this program: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, Family Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Primary Care, and Women’s Health/Gender-Related Studies. *Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Neonatal, and Pediatric Acute Care REQUIRE a minimum of one to two years of RN experience to be eligible for program admission..
